Dear Cancer Fighters,

**2019 is well underway and we are busily enacting and proposing plans to support the mission of Cancer Fighters of Houston, Inc.(CFOH)  We are pleased that our membership has continued to increase.  Clearly many people resonate with our three prong focus supporting Service, Research and Education.
Many new technology advances are making their way into our organization with our website, links, electronic check-in at our events, giving programs through Randalls (#12607 at the register) and Amazon Smile (designate Cancer Fighters).  More will be in the works such as Kroger, HEB, Whole Foods and FlipGive.  Our goal is more communication with our membership, maintaining better records from sponsored events and connect with new donation sources.
I am delighted to lead a group of very committed, dedicated and compassionate women.  Certainly the wisdom to form this organization in 1980 is visionary.  I wanted to share our giving report for Research and Service that we have received from Baylor College of Medicine, MD Anderson, Methodist Research Institute and The Rose.
  • Baylor College of Medicine reports that our contribution to researchers since 1989 is $275,000.
  • MD Anderson gives us a summary of contributions to researchers starting in 1987 that totals $622,752.
  • Methodist Research Institute summarizes the recent contributions on file to researchers as $65,000.
  • The Rose Breast Diagnostic Center shares that in support of their service to women who have given  $348,066  since 1980.
So a grand total for giving to these institutions in Houston is $1,316,818.  Now with the dedication and determination of Dolores Melton, Miwa Sakashita and Suzie Wilkes we have developed more fully our Education mission arm through a dinner lecture series.  It is our goal that a future scholarship fund will be developed.
We hope this donation report will inspire present and future giving as CFOH has been a very responsible steward of all funds given to the organization.  We look forward to seeing everyone at CFOH Events in 2018.  Please bring a friend and help us share our mission of success in Houston philanthropy.

Respectfully and thankfully submitted,
Denise M. Fredette MS, PT, MT, CSTS, NCTMB
